Some items OEW receives are not recycled, but it is less than 2% of the material we receive.

How much material does OEW Recycling send to the landfill?

Very little! Our combined recycling and reuse rate is well over 98% of the material we receive from individuals. That means that less than 2% goes to the landfill. We refer to this as our disposal rate. Our goal is to reduce our annual disposal rate to less than 1%.

OEW Recycling accepts a wide range of materials. However, we are careful to disclose the materials that we do not accept so that we can focus our efforts on recycling those materials that we are best qualified to process. By adhering to these standards OEW Recycling provides individuals with cost effective recycling services, plus we limit the amount of material sent to a landfill.

Are there other resources available that accept items that OEW Recycling does not process?
